Agricultural Engineering (AE; or in Bahasa: Teknik Pertanian) is one of the study programs under Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderal Soedirman University (UNSOED), later so-called Program Studi Teknik Pertanian (PS TEP), that concern with the educational, research, and community service program in developing and implementing engineering-based agricultural sciences/innovations to support sustainable agricultural production as well as agro-industry in tropical-rural areas.

PS TEP UNSOED has been accredited “A (excellent)” by Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT) of Indonesia. From the totally 20 staffs, 13 staffs are Doctor (or Ph.D) graduated from several overseas universities like as The University of Tokyo, Tokyo University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanazawa University, Iwate University (JAPAN), Newcastle University (UK), West Virginia University, Pittsburgh University (USA), Adelaide University (Australia) and from top-rank national universities like as Bogor Agricultural Univesity, Gadjah Mada University, Bandung Institute of Technology (BIT), Diponegoro University, Sebelas-November Institute of Technology, Jenderal Soedirman University and Jember Univeristy.

As an academic organization, PS TEP UNSOED has achieved various outstanding achievements including educational, research and community service activities. The study program had been a core-project of the Development and Management of Food Information Center for Sustainable Agriculture (DM-FIECSA) (2006 – 2008), had been a host of the International Conference on Sustainable Rural Development (2013), has been a core-project of the Internal Collaboration between UNSOED and Ibaraki University, JAPAN, especially in research as well as internship/community service program to develop an advance and sustainable technique for good quality of strawberry production at Serang village, Purbalingga regency, Central Java, Indonesia.
